In 2017 fans of Keanu Reeves will be able to enjoy the sequel to his 2014 hit, John Wick. The feature film about an ex-hitman coming out of retirement to exact revenge on those who took everything from him was easily Reeves’ best role since that of Neo from 1999’s The Matrix. While Wick didn’t exactly set box offices ablaze with it’s earnings of around $78 million, it was still a nice profit for Lionsgate considering that the budget came in around $20 million. In addition to be profitable, it was also raved about by both paying consumers as well as critics alike. The bar will definitely be raised as the expectations will undoubtedly be higher this time around. Production is set to start this fall for the tentatively titled John Wick 2. And if you have yet to see the original and you subscribe to HBO, HBO GO or HBO NOW, you’re in luck because it’s currently available at no additional cost.
If you need a Keanu Reeves fix sooner, Knock Knock might be a viable option as it hits theaters October 9, 2015. It’s worth noting though that the director is none other than Eli Roth so I’m sure this won’t be your typical Keanu-type role.
